The 2026 Student Leadership Club (SLC) summer gathering was held on August 9th to recruit new members and introduce the club.

On this day, over a hundred parents and students gathered at the Lopelia Meadows Clubhouse in Pacific Highlands Ranch to learn more about the program. The co-presidents of SLC, Calvin Yang and Daniel Lai, gave a presentation on volunteer opportunities and the Congressional Award, which is awarded to volunteers for reaching milestones in service hours and personal growth. On top of that, they introduced the many leadership roles and SLC chapters at various schools. Next, SLC officers introduced several programs, including student-led summer camps, beach cleanups, restoration projects, food banks, and more. 

After the presentation, pizza and snacks piled on tables outside while SLC members socialized with one another. Meanwhile, officers introduced the club to newcomers, answering questions about the program and sharing their experience. Students as young as elementary schoolers learned about the various leadership and volunteering opportunities SLC provides, leaving them with new insights on how they can be involved in and make an impact on the community.
